Heart Presence
Meditation Workshop
With Cedric Gorinas
Start or deepen your meditation practice and your experience of the Heart
For more than a thousand of years, the heart has been described and explored as the center of the self in several yoga and ancient wisdom scriptures. One Sanskrit word for heart is indeed hridaya, which directly translates as “the center” or “the place in the middle.”
Beyond the center of our sentimental and emotional world, the heart in yoga describes the very depth of our being; the place where we can rediscover who we truly are ourselves, feel connected to ourselves self and others, and reach a unique state of joyful stillness.
On Feb 1st, you are invited to dive into the realm of yoga beyond asana and, more specifically, the universe of the heart.
Although we will include gentle asana to prepare our body for sitting meditation, the primary focus will be sitting and laying-down meditation (with breaks). Drawing from both body-based and subtler practices and techniques, we will cultivate an embodiment of the unique state of being proper to what ancient sages called the Heart. We will also discuss some foundational ancient philosophy teachings (primarily inspired by nondual Shaiva Tantra) in an easily digestible way, so you can also understand the context and container for heart-centered practice.
Expect a deepening experience of yourself and what the Heart can potentially give access to: qualities such as contentment, joy, ecstasy, liberation, and interconnectedness.
Because the heart is hardly dissociable from our psycho-emotional world, we will begin some inwards reflection and discussion. Thus, bring something to write on and with.
After the workshop, for your record and home practice and studies you will get audio recordings for the meditations we will do and a summary of our theoretical context.
Experience with meditation is recommended but not strictly necessary. Most important is your willingness to turn inwards and curiosity about what you might discover there. Yoginis and yogis eager to start or sustain a home meditation practice are warmly welcome.

About Cédric:
Founder of HeartWise Yoga, the heart has been a central pillar in both my yoga studies and practice for the last 15 years. The heart is an indissociable part of who we are, naturally connected to our body and our mind. This connection is what I am passionate about cultivating when I teach yoga and meditation, always anchored in a soul-infused and ancient-wisdom inspired theme.
To me, teaching and practicing yoga is about discovering what it truly means to be human. As acknowledged in the old yogic texts, the heart always leads us back to the essence of who we are, aligned with what brings us joy and balance—on the mat and in our life.
Beyond yoga, meditation, and eastern philosophy, I am trained in somatic and mindfulness-based psychotherapy (Hakomi method), integrative bodywork (Esalen Massage®), yoga anatomy, as well as conscious forms of dance and movement. My intention is to share yoga as a path of awakening and and empowerment.
