In this 3-hour workshop with Sarah Bay, we’ll blend gentle somatic movement, self-massage with therapy balls, and an all-levels yoga practice to bring ease, awareness, and mobility to your neck and shoulders. You’ll explore how to release long-held tension in the upper body and discover new ways to support your posture with steadiness and softness.

The yoga practice is designed to feel grounding and nourishing - expect movements that support the function of your shoulders, chest, and upper back while also giving attention to how your neck, jaw, and even hands contribute to overall tension. Subtle sound and breath practices will be woven in to support relaxation and invite space into areas we often unconsciously hold - especially around the throat and jaw.

Who is it for?

This workshop is for anyone who experiences a sense of tightness, restriction, or fatigue in the upper back, shoulders, or neck - including those who sit at desks, carry children, practice yoga, or simply tend to store stress in their upper body.. Prior yoga experience is helpful but not required; the main prerequisite is curiosity about how your body moves and holds tension.

What can you expect?

  • Self-massage techniques using Yoga Tune Up therapy balls to target the shoulders, chest, upper back, neck, and jaw.

  • A yoga practice that helps retrain posture and invites steadiness and support through the upper body

  • Somatic explorations to help you tune into blind spots and habitual tension patterns.

  • Gentle breath and sound-based practices to help soothe the nervous system and bring awareness to the throat area.

  • Practical exercises you can take home to relieve neck and shoulder tension in everyday life.

  • A restorative closing sequence to integrate your practice and fully let go - ending with a long, supported savasana.

About Sarah Bay

Sarah began her Yoga practice in her early teens in 2001 when she was introduced to Yoga by her dear grandmother. Since then the practices of Yoga have been a key part of her toolbox to align body and mind when going through life's twists and turns. These practices are Sarah’s anchor, reminding her to show up every day with an open mind and explore the dance between effort and ease. Sarah’s teaching style is lighthearted and through mindful sequencing her classes are designed to cultivate body awareness and make space for a meditative state of the mind.
